Hello! My name is Greg Jackson and I am excited to be teaching here at Metzger Middle School! I was born in Chicago, Illinois but moved to San Antonio, Texas, when I was young. I graduated from the San Antonio public schools system. I also have a B.S. degree in Biology from Prairie View A&M University. I am a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. I have been married to my wife, Carmen for 16 years. We have two lovely daughters; Peyton, who attends Madison high school and Avery, who attends Harris middle school. We enjoy traveling, family gatherings, movies, and various outdoor activities. Last but not least, I enjoy teaching young people about science and allowing them to build on their knowledge in order to become productive adults and contribute positively to society.
My science class will be highly structured while still allowing students to choose amongst various assignments. From the first day of class I will set clear and firm behavioral expectations for everyone. My goal is to keep students engaged and interested in science. I will provide a variety of methods for learning i.e. visual, auditory and kinesthetic. Will will employ a multitude of comprehensive input techniques to enhance our learning.
Communication with my parents is paramount. My conference period for the 2013-2014 school year is 7:50AM - 8:45AM Monday thru Friday. For your convenience, I can be reached a variety of ways:
1) [email protected]
2) (210) 662-2200
3) contact request form on website
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress. I look forward to our collaboration. Thank you again and together, I look forward to a very enjoyable and prosperous school year!
